WHAT DOES A WEDDING PLANNER DO EXACTLY?

Wedding planners are masters at improvising. Part of your wedding planners job is knowing how to roll with the punches all while keeping the bride and groom calm and relaxed. Even when things happen that are out of your control. Much like actors, wedding planners have to improvise and KEEP GOING-We are masters at this!

THE SHOW MUST GO ON

“The Show Must Go On!” Any Moulin Rouge movie lovers out there!?  This phrase is something I learned during my younger years when I was pursuing acting in Southern California. If you forget your lines, even if part of the stage background falls -you kept going as if nothing happened at all. You learn to improvise and think quick on your feet. Most of the time, you can fix the “oops” moment and the audience is completely unaware.

THE “OH NO” MOMENT

Here is a picture of a super cute beer wall designed by MT Designs by Monica for a Santa Ynez spring wedding I planned and coordinated.

In the middle of the ceremony, the greenery fell, as you can see from this photo on the right-hand side. So during the ceremony, I re-attached the greenery. Did my bride and groom know? No. They were busy getting married! Does this stuff matter in the grand scheme of things- No. But nonetheless, it’s part of my job to make sure that the problem is fixed. KEEPING THE BRIDE AND GROOM CALM

A wedding planners duty is to keep the bride and groom calm and relaxed throughout the day, even when things go wrong. When you have so many “players” or in this analogy, “actors”, there is bound to be some hiccups here and there. The key is for your wedding planner to keep the wedding moving along smoothly and to make sure the couple is unaware of every hiccup along the way unless absolutely necessary.

DIRECTING YOUR WEDDING

We are the director in a way. And much like a movie, it is so rewarding to see it all come together to be the picture perfect day that it should be for every couple! If you liked this post, check out why we believe every couple deserves to be in the moment on their wedding day here.

Happy Planning!
